![]() ![]() It's rather amazing how tightly Bliz managed to tie both progression and difficulty together so that it's actually a near perfect fit, which you might not see initially, but once you've done it a few thousand times, it really is pretty amazing how near perfect they got some of the mechanics. The first few times I played through D2, I was like yourself, "Just harder? Why would I want to play the same game again with just harder monsters?" But once I decided to try it, it was clear just why people keep playing it over and over and over and - you get the idea. The real challenges only come when you play with 8 players though, because monsters become exponentially tougher with each body in the game. I'll warn you now though, it can be rather daunting the first few times you enter a new difficulty, possibly even making you want to quit especially moving from Nightmare to Hell with certain character types if you've built them poorly. ![]() It really is a different game, with vastly different strategies and tactics the higher you go. Trust us, what you've experienced in Normal (aka baby D2), is NOTHING to what you'll experience in Nightmare or Hell. ![]()
